I’m still drowning inside.

The bittersweet sirens grab hold of me,

I kick and flail for air- I need the noise

that can color and scramble my thoughts

and raise me from the sea

and carry me into tomorrow.

There’s none near.

My mind is stagnate with melancholy songs.

I feel floaty in the dark depths.

The sirens sing to me

and I just want to close my eyes-

just for a little bit

maybe longer.

This all feels familiar-

that makes me feel safe-

but I know I’m not.

I need the noise,

to color and scramble my thoughts.

Stagnation is dangerous.

If my mind is silent

then a wave of emotions- both melancholy and macabre-

breakthrough the dam in the back of my mind.

I almost never notice,

until it's too late.

Mental objects akin to sirens

stir from the sea of sadness to drown me.

They seduce me with half-truths and what if's,

offering companionship in eternal rest.

The temptation is strong.

I'm drowning,

but kicking and fighting out of reflex.

As luck would have it,

I find some noise

It's been a while since I've ever wrote anything.

I’m still active on here- I’m just trying to stay motivated to make art. Which means staying motivated to get out of bed.

DRAWING SERIES REVIVAL:

Back in 2016 I started this little drawing series called Music: Anybody Will Like It, it was just aliens rocking out to whatever. I got three drawings in and for some reason I just stopped. I'm not sure why- maybe I felt like I hit a dead end with that drawing series or maybe I procrastinated to the point of forgetting about it (I NEED TO STOP DOING THAT). Either way, I'm bringing it back because that was something I enjoyed. With this revival however, I will be including monsters because why not? MONSTERS. MAKE. EVERYTHING. BETTER.

DEVIANTART PAGE:

With my current deviantart page, I will not be deactivating it. I will, however, turn it into a more refine digital portfolio of sorts. I'm just debating with myself on whether or not I move all my current stuff to Scraps or just wipe the gallery altogether. Cuz oh boi...
